Search my heart, O Lord, if I ever disrespect or criticize my friends who walk with You! I’ve seen it happen many times—even to those in ministry. Fellow believers start out loving one another and knowing Your truth, but then power and greed take over and they forget their calling. Or jealousy and competition destroy Your purpose for their lives.

Lord, You stir my heart through John’s letter to Gaius. Courageously, he took a stand against Diotrephes when he saw that Your missionaries were not being treated with love. Lord, I long for the same courage. Your truth tells me, “Therefore we ought to support people like these, that we may be fellow workers for the truth” (3 John 8).

Lord, no matter where a person is in their own faith walk—whether a new believer, a lifetime Christian, a missionary, or someone who is just now seeking You—I am called to evangelism in love. I am to support and uplift others! Lord, I will encourage my Christian friends who continue in the truth and walk in the light and love that come from You, to whom they all belong.
