In the stillness of the morning, I ponder Your first conversation that You had with two of Your disciples in the Book of John. Two powerful questions that I, too, have to ask myself – What are you seeking and where are you staying?
“The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus. Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, “What are you seeking?” And they said to him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are you staying?” He said to them, “Come and you will see.” So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day, for it was about the tenth hour” (John 1:37-39 ESV).
Jesus, forgive me when the world pulls me away from You by enticing me to believe that others or things have the answers that will bring me happiness. It’s a lie. I hear Your Spirit in my heart calling me to seek Your face, Your Word—the Bible—and Your promises that will fulfill my life—Your truth. I will come, see and follow You forever.
